Shift Output of more than 120.000 Sacks
Windmöller & Hölscher introduces new Cement Sack line
AM 8105 – AD 8300
at Casablanca
On 5th of May 2010 Windmöller & Hölscher officially launched it’s new Cement Sack line
AM 8105 – AD 8300. Demonstrated at Pap Sac Maghreb, a Member of the Mondi Group in Casablanca, Morocco, the line impressed international visitors from the paper sack industry
through significantly reduced production costs, achieved by increased productivity. At 360 bpm
it is the world’s fastest cement sack line, permitting shift outputs of more than 120.000 bags.
That’s an increase of around 50%, when compared with the output of a line introduced to the
market ten years ago.
From a technical point of view cement sacks represent a rather undemanding, low added-value mass product and any improvement in productivity, however small, is a big factor in terms of production efficiency. The production output of the bottomer determines the efficiency of the
entire multiwall line. The new AD 8300 bottomer reaches 20 % higher production speeds, i.e.
360 sacks per minute and the already low idle time is further reduced. This is due to the smart
end-of-roll monitors at the unwinds which ensure rapid roll changes minimizing waste at the
same time.
To adequately feed the bottomer, the tuber output had to be raised. It now reaches 400 tubes/min and is applicable throughout the entire cut-off length range. The smart end-of-roll monitors for the unwinds, already mentioned at the bottomer, reduce roll change time and minimize material left
on the core (approx. 4 – 6 meters).
The new multiwall line was operating successfully for several months at Pap Sac Maghreb.
Apart from the new AM 8105 tuber and the new AD 8300 bottomer, the line also comprises a tube transport and storage device located between tuber and bottomer, and the ARCOMAT 3 robotic palletizer. Featuring 28 cycles per minute, the ARCOMAT 3 enables the bottomer to produce
hands of low bag counts with perfect stacking results.
The visitors witnessed a perfectly organized demonstration of the new line running impressive, high outputs. The consistent modular design principle of the machines allows them to be tailored to the most different production requirements and to be upgraded any time as required. Add-on modules which permit the production of ultrasonic sealable valves or of bags with carrying handles are available upon request.
