Ink consumption logging is essentially aimed at bringing only so much ink to the
press as is actually needed for a job. The goal is to minimize left over inks which
would otherwise have to be admixed to the ink on other jobs or may even need disposal.
The EASY-COL module for residual ink reduction measures the quantity of ink in
the ink supply system of the press and permanently analyses the quantity of ink
used in the process. It is, therefore, possible to mix additional ink required
in good time. Actual ink usage data is stored and can be retrieved on re-runs by
way of orientation.
EASY-COL can be used particularly efficiently in conjunction with appropriate production
information systems (such as ISP from W&H), providing the basis for fast re-calculation
of jobs immediately they are finished.
